Hannah Miller presents new data on mercury Cycling at Niwot Ridge - Goldschmidt Conference, Lyon, FR
EBG scientists, Hannah Miller and Jackie Gerson, together with Dr. Hinckley, are attending the 2023 Goldschmidt Conference in Lyon, France. Hannah presented her new data on mercury fates and potential mercury methylation rates in soils at Niwot Ridge LTER site. Hannah’s work shows the significant role that subalpine wetlands play in producing methylmercury and transporting it to downgradient ecosystems. In addition, she demonstrates the mobilization of methylmercury in the food chain — particularly in those organisms that feed in aquatic ecosystems.
