Science designed for impact
We study how people change biogeochemical and water cycles in both intensively managed and remote parts of the world. Our projects are use-inspired, co-developed with practitioners, and directly relevant to human well-being.

why this work matters
Our world and its biogeochemical cycles are changing
We seek to understand how people change global biogeochemical cycles and use that information to develop solutions within our research communities and beyond. Our projects take us across the periodic table, with particular emphasis on carbon, sulfur, nitrogen, and mercury. We integrate a variety of field, lab, and modeling techniques to address our questions.
